If
you'd like to write a review for the Poetry Zone - 1 Choose a book of poetry that you would like to share with our Poetry Zone visitors. The book should be one you can buy in the shops or from an on-line store. (Try not to choose old books that are out of print.) 2 Make sure you begin your review with the title of the book AND who wrote it. 3 Give your own name AND age. If you forget this your review will not be published. 4 Give at least three reasons why you liked the book. Was it funny? Did it make you laugh? Was it sad? Did it make you cry. Was it clever? Did you like the way the poet used rhymes. Or the poet's style? If it's a book by lots of poets - was there an overall theme? Which poets did you like best? 5
Which was your favourite poem in the book?
Can you say why? Include a verse if you can. Or the whole poem if it's
not too 6 Was there anything about the book that you didn't like? Or could be improved? 7 Is the book illustrated? Who by? What do you think of the drawings? Do they make the book better? Do they add to it? 8 Other things you might mention are - for what age are the poems written? Would you read other poems by that poet? Are his or her poems similar to anyone else's? 9 Finally award the book up to five stars out of five. One is poor - five is brilliant! Write in a natural style - just as if you were chatting to a friend. Check your spellings on a spell checker and send your review in the body of the e-mail - NOT as an attachment.
