I N N E R S
A
Secret by Violet Macdonald (aged 12)
A
secret really isn't much fun,
Unless someone knows that you've got it,
So I run down the street,
'Til I am real beat,
Shouting: "I'm so glad I heard every bit!"
Hitting gates with a stick,
And knocking on doors,
Until every kid has arrived,
And then in unison they all loudly plead:
"Tell us what we are deprived!"
So I smile smugly like I know something they don't,
And ever so slowly I say:
"I can't, it's a secret."
My
Secret is a Secret by Laila Hudson
(aged 13)
My
secret is a secret
No one knows but me
It's glowing all around
In the trees, air and sea
My secret is a secret
I hold it in my head
Its sits there shining brightly
Gold, pink, blue and red
My secret is a secret
I clutch it in my hand
It flutters like a bird
Looking down onto the land
My secret is a secret
It's in my words and dreams
It winds through my mind
In silver trickling streams
My secret is a secret
It's under lock and key
My secret is a secret
Because no one knows but me
Little Locked Chest by
Ashley Lazowski
Forgotten
with time
Her nightly routine
Little locked chest
Filled with dreams
Sealed
with a kiss
Each held her soul
Little locked chest
Was becoming full
Her
very last secret
It held so proud
Little locked chest
Forgotten for now
As
the decades went one
It still stands true
Little locked chest
Always pulled through
Thirty
years later
Found room for one more
Little locked chest
Safe and secure
The
Deal by Ellen Thomas (aged 12)
Billy
McGate a boy of eight
Wanted a brand knew bike
He had a plan that couldn't fail
He wouldn't give up without a fight
'Mummy Dearest,' he would say
'I have an offer you can't refuse!'
'What's that?' She said ' and what do you want?
A brand new pair of shoes.'
'A bike!' He said and his mum did reply
What makes you think I'll buy that?
Something I have and something you want
Said he as on the kitchen chair he sat
With that and smile he got out a box
And patted the top with a grin
'I'm sure that you will change your mind
When you see what lies within!'
Then he opened the lid and took something out
It was just an old videocassette
The mum laughed the boy smirked
'Ah but you see you don't know what it plays yet!'
The mum gulped as the boy put it back in the box
And reminded her of something, a family disgrace
An embarrassing tape at last years Christmas party
'Buy the bike,' said the boy - and the tape I'll erase!'
Okay, okay, said the mum and she left
But she came back in just to stay
Let's just keep this our little secret
Now go on out and play!
A
Secret by Joel White
There
is a secret that the world must know
Because aliens are in town!!!!!!
Run, RUN as fast as you can because
They've got lasers
And grenades and loads of other weapons too
So I should tell the world today, but, I can't because
I am an alien!!!
Ha ha ha haa!
Under
My Bed by Emily Yeomans (aged
9)
SSSH!
Under my bed I found 20 slugs and shells on the ground.
SSSH! Under my bed I found mouldy food plates
that have never been washed before.
SSSH! Under my bed I found dirty clothes and dead flies
lying about on the ground .
SSSH! Under my bed I found lots and lots of slime about
all over the ground.
SSSH! Under my bed I found... oh no Mum is in there cleaning!

I
Would Like by Oliver Stout (aged
7)
I
would like to go to China
And eat lots of Chinese food
Some I have never eaten before.
I would like see
All of the animals in the Chinese New Year.
My favourite animal is the pig
It is a funny and it makes me laugh
When I see it on TV.
I would like to see the Terracotta Army
Because it is guarded by lots of soldiers.
And it goes under ground a long way.
It would be really nice
It would be really warm
So people can sun-bathe.
Or go swimming in the sea
Or swimming pools.
It would take a long time to get there
It's on the other side of the world.
My Secret by Jordan Wright (aged 9)
I have a secret laboratory,
Alien contacts and more,
I have a secret safe,
Hidden behind my door.
My
secret is a far away land,
A magic wishing wand,
A secret chemical compactor,
Of that I am very fond.
My
Secret by Georgia Asquith (aged
9)
Have
you ever heard a secret?
Well here's a secret to know,
I'll let you into a big secret,
Don't tell anyone, oh no?
When
you're asleep at midnight,
The teddies come alive,
If you have a cat or dog that comes in,
They have no chance to survive.
Fairies
and pixies ride on ladybirds,
They go swimming in puddles,
The gnomes get mixed up with them,
And leave in a muddle.
If
you ever break this secret
Bad things will happen!
My
Creature Secret by Lydia Dodd
(aged 9)
In
my cupboard
Locked up tight
My secret roars and shrieks at night
It's in there all on its own
I know it just wants to go home
But it stays here
Because it's mine
My creature secret is
FRANKENSTINE!

Sam's
Secret by Katy Adams (aged 9)
My
brother has a secret,
That no one's ever known,
So I did a little guessing game,
To see if I could know
Maybe
it's a dragon,
That Sam doesn't want mum to see,
Or possibly a crocodile,
That's ready to eat me!
It
could be a fairy,
That's too scared to come out of hiding,
Or maybe a dinosaur,
That's only on Sam's side.
So
one busy day,
When Sam was in his lair,
I went to see what the secret was
And it was a video of Care Bears!
Secrets
by Sam Langston (aged 8)
Something
hard to keep.
Extremely big part of your mind.
Crying not to come out.
Really big job.
Easily could come out of your mouth.
Teaching you a lesson.
My Secret Garden by Emma Barlow (aged
13)
The
flowers blooming and bursting, full of colour and scent.
The glowing rainbow magically appears but then it suddenly went.
The birds are happily chirping, in the big far apple tree.
The fluffy white clouds are floating and they just hang over me.
The beauty of the garden, the wonderful fresh air.
The secret garden is silent as if nobody was there.
The sun shines down the day and the moon shines down on the night.
The secret garden is my special place and in it I feel right.
The secret garden is extraordinary and a place that is unknown.
The secret garden is a nice place, a place I call my home.
Not
Mine by Maya Gouw (aged 9)
Oh,
I love to bike
joyfully striding
in the bright green grass.
How I love the
beautiful bike of brass.
Oh,
the dogs chase after me
ever so happy,
'till one of them spots a bee.
How I love watching them running around
playfully under a sycamore tree.
Oh,
I have a beautiful box
full of rotten bread.
How it may seem nasty to you,
but not my cousin Fred!
But
the bike,
the dogs, nor the bread
belongs to me...
For
I can't ride a bike...
And the dogs have fleas...
And worst than anything
the bread's made out of
PEAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I
Am Alone by Melissa Brabanski
I
feel isolated,
I feel so alone,
Like no-one understands my hurt.
A one woman show for everyone to see,
But I have no audience,
Stranded centre stage, in darkness,
Waiting for some light.
I wait and wish for someone to see me.
As the stands fill up with people,
They look at an empty stage,
Blinded by the black light.
Everyone can see what I see,
No-one can feel what I feel.
The curtains close,
And the audience leave,
Without any applause.
Welcome to my life.
Mrs Smith and the
by Victoria
Murphy
'Look
she's coming! Ssh ssh!
Is it all ready? Is everyone in place?
ssh ssssh, it's not a race!'
thirty
three children all in a row,
Ran to their tables all in one go
Smiling, or smirking, whatever it may be
Some giggling or clapping with glee.
Old
Mrs Smith was a funny old bat
Who would put you in detention at the drop of a hat.
The children had cried, grumbled and moaned
But old Mrs Smith was immune to your groans.
She
dressed in old cardies, and looked like a witch,
With a wart on her nose and a annoying twitch
The children had seen her flying, they were completely sure,
And she scared the death out of them as never before.
So
one snowy day, while the children were kept in school
They hatched a plan that would end once for all,
the ongoing, mad Children-teacher brawl.
As
her heels clacked down the hallway,
At once The children fell silent,
They heard the faint sound of her ruler
which to her was like a trident
At
last she got to 3A's door,
and the children were still, as never before.
The handle turned, slowly, and with a almighty crack,
Old Mrs Smith sent the door flying back.
The
children gripped their seats as she let out a roar,
And stomped whilst tutting, across the wood floor.
She got to her desk, and reached for the seat
Whilst glaring at the children like pieces of meat.
The
children could hardly hold it,
the secret was too much to bear,
But no one dared to tell her
what indeed was there.
She
drew back the old seat,
And with somewhat of a frown,
Not taking her eyes off the class
Sat down!
A
almighty noise, and a funny one at that,
came from the chair where she had just sat.
The children all spluttered, the secret was revealed,
A whoopee cushion, they all squealed.
Now, laughing, there was no need to keep their lips sealed!!!

Secrets
Within Lies by Katie Heflin (aged 13)
You never know
What someone else knows
But I know what you are thinking
What you want to be
I know everything
About you
But you are a lie
Everything you do
Everything that makes you
You
It's all a lie
I know all your secrets and plans
But it's secrets within lies that you live
Your lies become what you treasure most
'Cause they are all you know
So don't blame me for knowing everything
'Cause everything i know
Is nothing
'Cause its all the same
Secrets within lies
Which in the end isn't a secret
Because it isn't real

The Secret Box by Alice Evans (aged 9)
I
found a little chest in Mummy's drawer.
She said, "What's in this box is to be hid."
When it was clear that she would say no more,
I thought, "Tonight I'll peek under the lid!"
What I saw, I'll never tell a soul
Or I will never see the light of day;
I'll be sold and sent to shovel coal.
Mum said I must forget it right away.
But what she said, I simply could not do.
I told one of my friends, but she was mean.
I groaned, "Oh dear, I'm such a silly moo!"
Oh crikey, did my mum create a scene!
I wrote this on the run in Timbuktu,
So let this be a lesson to all of you!
